Jay and his band are on the way to being included in the Bloodstock Music Festival which has an attendance of over 18,000 metal fans.
Jay Jassie, Peer Support Mentor, is mostly known to members as someone who delivers social groups and specialised autism training as part of a team of experts-by-experience. What some may not know is that he is the bassist for the metal band ‘Reversing Destiny’.
He is a founding member for the band that was founded in September 2014. Reversing Destiny’s band members include, Will Hewson (Vocals), Darryl Brown (Lead Guitar), Jay Jassie (Bass Guitar), and Marcus King (Drums).
On Saturday 17th March, Reversing Destiny took part in the first heat of the ‘Metal 2 the Masses’ competition at The Fenton in Leeds. They played their music with three other bands and managed to get through to the next round of the competition by winning the audience vote.
Next up, Jay and Reversing Destiny will be going into the semi-final and be put up against more metal bands.
Wish him luck!
We asked Jay about the experience. He said:
“Being a band from Grimsby and winning the first heat of the competition by audience vote against hometown bands in Leeds was already a massive moment for us, if we can win our semi-final too and get even closer to playing Bloodstock then that would be even more incredible.”
Want a fun night of Heavy Metal bands?
If you’re able to make it to Leeds or know anyone in Leeds, then Reversing Destiny would appreciate any support on the night.
